About Nottingham Friends of the Earth
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm. Following the Covid-19 lockdown we are continuing to meet online - email as below for details. Our membership covers the Greater Nottingham area. Recent activities have included:
- Supporting the Nottingham Climate Justice Coalition, following a rally in November 2021 organised by the local COP26 Coalition
- Campaigning to clean up air pollution by reducing traffic, and 'citizen monitoring' of air pollution
- Supporting a national campaign to double tree cover and to promote biodiversity
- Supporting Frack Free Notts opposing the threat of shale gas or coal bed methane extraction
- Trying to get Notts Pension Fund to shift investments out of fossil fuels and into sustainable alternatives
- Supporting Nottingham Pro-Wind Alliance
- Campaigning for our local councils and citizens to 'Get Serious' about reducing the climate change emissions which are impacting all of us
