Join us in Nottingham as we come together to demand climate justice on November 6 as part of a global day of action, with demonstrations in Glasgow, other UK towns and cities, and around the world.
As world leaders gather in Glasgow for COP26, join thousands of other people from all over the East Midlands from 1pm at the Forest Recreation Ground (Gregory Boulevard), for a march from 2pm down Mansfield Road and rally with speakers in the Market Square at 3pm. (See website for details.)
The decisions made at the UN climate talks will shape how governments respond (or not) to the climate crisis. Right now, we are living through a period of multiple breaking points - from climate change to covid to racism. These crises share the same cause. Our political and economic system is built on inequality and injustice. For centuries, rich governments and corporations have been exploiting people and the planet for profit.
Those who have done the least to cause climate breakdown suffer the most and must be at the centre of decision-making about the solutions. We need to keep fossil fuels in the ground, and invest in low carbon alternatives now. We need an economy based on the wellbeing of everyone, not exploitation and profit for the few.
The planet is already burning, yet world leaders reject the scale of change we need in favour of tinkering at the edges. That's why we are bringing together movements from across the world to build power for system change and we need your help to amplify their voices and demands.
Wherever you are, now is the time to join the fight for climate justice. Everyone is welcome, come and march with us.
And please forward this email to your family, friends, and networks far and wide throughout Nottingham and beyond.

We are part of the UK COP26 Coalition. The COP26 Coalition is a UK-based alliance of groups and individuals mobilising around climate justice during COP26. Coalition members include environment and development NGOs, trade unions, grassroots community campaigns, faith groups, youth groups, migrant and racial justice networks.
In Nottingham and in other cities, local coalitions have formed to take action on 6 November and build the movement for climate justice.
