SURVEY ON NOTTINGHAM'S TRAFFIC PROBLEMS

At 2pm on Friday 19th June, voting slips completed by local people concerned about traffic problems in Nottingham are to be handed in to the Council House.

Members of Friends of the Earth and other local groups hope to meet the Lord Mayor and inform the authorities about the transport issues concerning local people.

The voting slips show that people are demanding:

Daily information about pollution levels in Nottingham
Cheaper and more efficient public transport
More car sharing schemes
Safer cycling facilities
Cars banned from the city centre on days when pollution goes above health limits.

Nottingham Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace, Earth First!, Pedals, Notts Transport 2000, Womens' Environmental Network and the Green Party have all joined together to distribute these voting slips, and expect to have over a thousand completed in time to hand to the Mayor.
