Nottingham
All who care about Nottinghamshire's countryside are invited to take part in an organised circular walk from Linby on Sunday 14th June, meeting at the Horse & Groom pub at 11.15.
The event aims to highlight access to the countryside by public transport and to prove that it is not necessary to have a car to get out of the city. All participants are urged to catch the 114 bus from Victoria Centre bus station leaving at 10.30am.
The event is supported by Nottingham Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace, Earth First!, Notts Transport 2000 and Women's Environmental Network, who are jointly tackling traffic issues in Nottingham.
Kath Pitt of Nottingham Friends of the Earth said:
"We can all enjoy the countryside without choking it with car fumes. Taking the car means polluting the very fresh air we come to breathe."
